Did you think that the afterlife would be fire and brimstone? Physical pain and torture? No. No, hell is other people. Hell is being trapped with your fellows in a small but quaint and mildly opulent underworld. No torture, no pain. Just you and them.  Them and you. Forever. Never to leave or cease.

"Hell is other people." (a quote from Sartre's play 'No Exit') is a character roleplay. Nothing too fantastic will happen, no giant explosions or superpowers. The purpose of the game is to construct a well-thought-out character and play your character as in-character as you possibly can as you interact with the other characters. You will play the role of a damned soul of your own creation. Nothing crazy, though. Just a normal dead person of your own making.

This RP will take place and only take place in a single room built and decorated in the style of the Second French Empire. No one will leave. As people make more characters and join the RP, the room may expand in size.

Personality: Hides beneath a veneer of upbeatness and faith, in reality his faith is very shaken, and suffers from depression. Prone to lashing out at people who question his faith, and faking his mood. Attempts to be caring with others but can quickly grow tired of his own charade.
Life prior to death (bio): His mother died in childbirth, leaving him to be raised by his older sister Layla, and his father. Their father was deeply distraught by the death of his wife, going so far as to blame Elijah. Eli's sister stood up for him during their father's abusive streaks and alcoholism, leading him to look up to and adore her.
Aiming to keep her brother away from their father, is under Layla's advisement that he began going to church, he was well liked and popular, but never honestly believed anything they told him about "God" or "hell" or any of that nonsense. It was just an excuse to make friends and deal with his own depression.
The last minutes of his life are ones he would prefer to not recall, but the local news that morning reported a father's attempted murder of his daughter, and the son's heroic sacrifice to save her, leading to the death of both father and son. The father was later resucitated, Eli... was not. Eli is still seen in the living world as model citizen, keeper of the faith, and hero to the oppressed. Oh, how wrong they are.
Possible damnation reason: False faith, lying, attempted Patricide.

Appearance and physical description: Black wild hair, dark eyes behind sleek glasses, a cold yet almost scholarly appearance.  A moderate build, around 5'11.  An affinity for rather dark clothing.  
Personality: Aggressively cynical and sarcastic, and very depressed.  Doesn't like other people, can be kind or cruel depending.  He's good at reading people, and uses it to his advantage.
Life prior to death (bio):  Born to a rather apathetic family that couldn't care less about him, but was left alone when they were killed in a home invasion.  He grew up without friends, the one girl he loved murdered by her stepfather.  In high school he spent class periods reading Nietzsche and the like.  When he turned 18, he lived in a small apartment scraping by, writing pieces for various literary publications before deciding that death was rather preferable to life.  He left behind a manuscript that garnered some attention after its posthumous publication by a friend.
Damnation reason: Carefully planned suicide by hanging, overdose, and carbon monoxide at the same time.

Name: Wick "Tamela" Hand
Age 25
Appearance and physical description Wick is about 5'5", slender, and long hair. On appearance, Wick is perfect feminine beauty, save for one thing. Wick's a dude. He wears usually sweaters and jeans.
Personality Wick is quick to anger, which is usually followed by some of his more "erratic" habits. He is a pyromaniac, and suffers from psychosis from time to time.
Life prior to death (bio): Born Wick Hand to a superbly rich family. it was not until he was 8 that he began to go by Tamela, after he learned that his parents had wanted a daughter. His estate was huge, his fortune massive, but he was not in the safest place. By the age of 14, his parents had both been incarcerated, something with fraud, and he was left in charge of his family's finances. At first, things were going fine, the first 6 years went by smoothly, he finished his schooling. Then he started to succumb to the pressure. It was about this time that he started to become enamored with fire. As the years went by, his estate grew smaller and smaller, his fortune shrinking by the millions. Then one day, the whole thing went up in flames, literally. It was later discovered that Wick had been dabbling in the occult. He had been performing many rituals, the last stemming to be a sacrifice. Of himself. The staff of the mansion were never found.
